Participants apply their leadership training by developing the skills to run for office, including:

• Building and managing a campaign team
• Creating campaign field plans
• Organizing volunteers
• Voter outreach and engagement
• Campaign communications and messaging

Focus: Equipping participants to plan and manage their own campaigns with their campaign teams.

 Our Approach

ELLA Adelante’s candidate development program is designed to prepare leaders to campaign effectively in communities of color. Trainings focus on communications, organizing, and voter engagement strategies that reflect the experiences and priorities of the communities emerging leaders seek to represent.

Our Goal: Increase the number of leaders from communities of color who are prepared to run for office, build community-centered campaigns, and serve as effective public leaders.
